Item Description

This is an auction for 1 ride to school in a police cruiser, and a meet and greet with K9 Bruno, donated by the Washington Township Police Department.

A lucky Indian Lake student will be able to ride to school in style in a Washington Twp Police cruiser! The auction winner will also be able to meet the furriest member of the force, K9 Bruno. The ride is good for the 2020-2021 school year.

"Our philosophy is to focus on community policing. Here are some examples of community policing efforts we are involved in every year. We are very active and participate in many events in all of the Indian Lake Schools. Our goal is to build strong relationships with our youth that we hope will have a positive effect on the community for generations to come. We are involved with the neighborhood watch groups in our area as well. We provide training to the schools and churches in Washington Township to create a safer environment for all when attending these facilities. We are actively involved with some of the businesses in the township that request our assistance in creating and establishing their Emergency Response Plans.

I believe a strong police presence in your neighborhood deters crime. Drug problems continue to dominate the calls for service for law enforcement agencies across the state. Your police department has an aggressive approach in dealing with drug offenders in Washington Township. I also believe that if we can minimize the drug activity in our area that all other crime statistics are reduced. The drug element drives the greatest percentage of all the criminal activity in most communities.

It is a privilege and an honor to serve you. I have an open door policy and invite your questions and concerns. We are active on Facebook so feel free to keep up on what we are doing on a daily basis. Together we can strengthen, grow, and preserve our community. Thank you for your interest in the police department and your support."

Police Chief
