Item Description
When Maya first arrived at Elephant Conservation and Care Center from the circus, she was really underfed and withdrawn. She was forced to work at a circus for people's entertainment and was chained at the end of the day. Today, Maya is a happy and healthy elephant and loves her friend Phoolkali's company. While she’s not all that enthusiastic about her walks, she really loves playing football, which is her favorite game.
About the photographer:
Barbara Huber is passionate about photography, travel and elephants, and thoroughly enjoyed her 2017 visit to the elephant rescue center in Mathura. The chance to walk with Maya and Phoolkali that day was a highlight and she is very happy to share one of her photographs with friends and supporters of Wildlife SOS.
