Item Description
Gajraj arrived at Wildlife SOS in 2017 after 50 years as a temple elephant in Maharashtra. Sadly, due to his advanced age and chronic ailments, Gajraj passed away in 2020. We are auctioning one of the last padhchinhs we have with Gajraj's footprint.
About the artist:
Singapore based Artist Alpana Ahuja supports Wildlife SOS, by collaborating with the rescued elephants and creating the 'Padhchinh' (footprint in Sanskrit) series of paintings. Started in 2013, this collaboration has raised much-needed funds for the elephants. Gentle Elephant Phoolkali was the first co-artist and over the years many elephants like Lakshmi, Wally, Suraj, Mohan, and Gajraj have participated.

26"x 28"
A special and unique piece with the Amber fort of Jaipur being worked into the background. The artist brings to attention the sad plight of working elephants who still carry tourists up and down this fort.
