Item Description
This unique piece is so realistic you want to keep checking to see if the fish has enough air. Don't worry, he won't run out! Glass artist Brian Kelk, has masterfully crafted a beautiful fish in the "water" within the "bag". This is definitely a conversation piece.
Sculpture is free standing and a little over 12" tall.
This was crafted by Glass Artist Brian Kelk of New-Small & Sterling Studio Glass Ltd., in Vancouver British Columbia. Freeblown glass is formed on the blow pipe and pontil (a solid rod) by the gaffer (master blower) using only heat, air, gravity and a few simple tools. Since molds are not used to give a piece its final form, freeblowing is more time consuming than traditional factory methods. The important advantage of this technique is that it allows the artist to use his full range of skills and creativity to make each piece unique.
