Farmstrong Redwood Valley Field Rose, 4 Half-Bottle Cans

Get Ready to Rosé All Day, Anywhere!

Farmstrong Field Rose (Carignane, Zinfandel): The Farmstrong Field Rosé is the result of an intentional rosé program, picked expressly for rosé and 100% whole cluster pressed.

This blend is from two vineyard sites in northern Mendocino’s Redwood Valley: Carignane from the 80 year old vines in Hawkeye Ranch (50%), Zinfandel(50%) from 48 year old vine in KenMar Vineyard.  Hawkeye Ranch is owned and farmed by the Johnsons, who are 5th generation growers and true stewards of the land.  KenMar is owned and Farmed by Ken and Margo Schrock.

The Carignane and Zinfandel are picked several weeks before I pick them for the Field Red. The Carignane and Zinfandel press juice was cold settled and then racked and combined as juice and a native fermentation was carried out, all as one lot. After dryness the rosé was aged in neutral French oak and received lees stirring until the wines was bottled in the spring.

The fruit from both the Carignane and Zinfandel is balanced and beaming with bright flavors at lower sugars, allowing me to harvest at lower sugars and retain the lovely natural acidity, vibrant red fruits and floral notes. By gently pressing whole clusters, extraction is very delicate, allowing her soft pretty nature to shine through.

About the Can: Loaded with vibrant lively fruits, it is summer in a CAN:  ripe strawberries, honey tangerine, camellia blossom.  This wine is inviting, happy, easy going and relaxing…like a walk in the park on a sunny day.

This is the wine that goes in the bottle of Farmstrong Field Rose, however, now this wine is also conveniently located in a 375mL can.  Being a busy outdoorsy type myself, the idea of delicious wine that was in a light and portable package became something of great interest to me.

I decided to offer these wines to you in this format, now you can bring her with you wherever life’s adventures take you. Some of my favorite spots so far have been the beach, hiking, sailing, but the options truly are endless!! The cans are light, they chill down faster, they don't break, and heck, let's face it, they are just fun!

So crack a can, I promise you ... it will just happen: you will crack a smile too. Enjoy!  (Winemaker Faith Armstrong Foster)

Bottle Size: 375ml Can

Number of Bottles: Four Cans (equivalent to two bottles)

Varietal: Rose of Carignane & Zinfandel

Appellation: Redwood Valley

Farmstrong Wines are dynamic blends that tilt their hat to California’s diversity and history. They are expressions the vineyard sites are very special to me. I am a true believer in personal connection and there is a story behind each vineyard site and how it came to be part of my portfolio. In these stories you will learn more about the people behind these vineyards. I liken my connection to these vineyards to that of one’s favorite shirt or coffee mug or chair. Like a well worn fabric or a slightly chipped mug that may have initially caught my eye for its beauty, but over the years it has won my heart because it just feels right. When it comes to vineyards this happens too, and it is a combination of my connection with the vines themselves and my connection with those that tend them. For me the growers hands are most definitely part of the terroir.
