Artist Bio
Craig Reynolds was born in Gadsden, Alabama and, at an early age, was taught to draw and paint by his father.
As a young man, Reynolds learned a deep appreciation for the outdoors, old farms, and barnacle laden harbors with their history told by the well-worn scars and patina earned by years of hard work and time. His father taught him to use his talents to record these memories with paint and canvas. Reynolds began painting professionally in 1984, while also maintaining his career. He began his full-time professional art business in 2005.
Craig travels extensively, participating in plein air competitions, paint outs, and painting excursions across the United States and abroad.
Along with teaching a local mentoring program in his hometown of Gulf Shores, Alabama, Reynolds also travels around the south teaching plein air and studio workshops.
In addition, Craig has been published by Plein Air Magazine and his oil paintings hang in many private collections in the United States and abroad.
He is a member of the National Oil & Acrylic Painters' Society, American Impressionist Society, Inc., Oil Painters of America, and the American Society of Marine Artists. He is represented by McBride Gallery, Annapolis, Maryland; Live Oak Gallery, Apalachicola, Florida; Coastal Arts Center Of Orange Beach, Alabama; and Craig Reynolds Studio in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
