Item Description

A wedding vase is a traditional Native American pot, which represents two lives joining together as one. This particular vase is made from the traditional horse hair pottery technique, where hair from the tail or mane of a horse is applied to the pottery as soon as it is removed from the kiln, around 1300 degrees fahrenheit. At this temperature the hair immediatly combusts, squiggles around, and infuses intricate patterns into the ceramic piece.  Once the vase is cooled, the artist hand paints and hand etches traditional patterns. The ability to craft a handful of dirt into a unique piece of art is truly sacred.

Small Navajo Wedding Vase, 4.5" tall. Each piece is carefully hand etched with individual rows telling a story about the Navajo culture. Hand painted, hand etched, and signed by the artist, JH .

Comes with certificate of Authenticity that this is 100% Native American made by Navajo potter.

Item Special Note

This pot has some scratches on one side and bottom consistent with display and use.
