During the great unranium boom of the late 1950's, long time and new Moab residents began to consider the value that a museum might bring to the town. In 1958 and Moab Museum became a reality. The private archeological collections from Dr. J.W."Doc" Williams and Ross Musselman provided the objects for initial exhibits. By the mid 1980's the museum had outgrown its original building. Because of the generous donations of Moab business man and philanthropist, Dan O'Laurie, and others, the Center Street was dedicated in 1988.
The Moab Museum's goal is to inspire and foster an understanding of our region's natural and cultural history.
Because of Covid 19 the museum is currently closed. Please visit on line to explore the Museum's diverse stories and collections on the website.
