Item Description
This anthology offers a lively introduction to the study of fiction, poetry, and drama, and is appropriate for introduction to literature courses as well as literature-based composition courses.
Known for its clear presentation of the formal elements of literary analysis, DiYanni's Literature effectively balances classical, modern, and contemporary works across the three major genres, blending well-known writers with a diverse gathering of newer, international figures. This literary breadth is supplemented by extensive coverage of writing about literature, making DiYanni an excellent resource for literature instructors who want a full-featured anthology.
DiYanni's Literature is comprehensive, student-firendly and visual. Illustrated throughout.
Student reviews:
I am a glutton for textbook literature compilations. What more could you ask for? All of the greats in one HUGE book. Hawthorne, Frost, Mansfield.... ahhhh, I am in Bookworm Heaven!!!
This book has so much information and great literature, you're sure to be an expert by the end! I needed this for my english composition and literature class and was able to easily understand and comprehend everything! Di Yanni is a great author - very clear!
Needed this book for a class, don't think I will be selling it anytime soon. Love the poems and short stories, plus the chapter introductions help understand what you will be reading. Great book.
I actually bought this book for a Lit. class and I knew I would hate the class and the book when I saw how 'big' the boook was. Turns out I loved them both; and DiYanni in my opinion is an excellent author. This book is a great read for pleasure as well as study.
This book not only contains a lot of excellent literature, but it also gives instruction on how to read and analyze literature more effectively. This is a book I come back to again and again.
