Noted Southwest Native American artist Donna Quintana designs and handpaints pottery from her home in Acoma, New Mexico.
Acoma is a Native American pueblo, which is one of the oldest continuously inhabitited communities in the United States.
Pottery is one of the most notable forms of art at Acoma. Potters still craft the Pueblo's distinctive pottery using the dense local clay to create thie thin-walled pottery. Geometric patterns, thunderbirds, and rainbows are typical of thier traditional designs.
