Item Description
A Collection of White Wines that go fantastically well with all types of food.
Includes:
Bellavista Brut Alma Cuvée NV, Franciacorta, Lombardy, Italy
Wine Spectator 89:
Sparkling - complex and traditional; 77% Chardonnay, 22% Pinot Nero, 1% Pinot Bianco. Well-knit and fresh, with a creamy bead and flavors of smoked hazelnut, dried apricot and ripe black raspberry. Citrusy finish.
Kendall Jackson Grand Reserve Chardonnay 2017
Santa Barbara, California, USA
Vinous 90:
The 2017 Chardonnay Grand Reserve is a gorgeous barrel-fermented Chardonnay that offers a striking interplay of richness and the more saline notes that are typical of Santa Barbara, where 75% of this fruit is sourced. Apricot, honey, dried flowers, mint and butter notes lead into the creamy finish. The Grand Reserve is very nicely done. Drink 2019-2025.
Pabiot Pouilly-Fume 2011, Loire, France
John Gilman 92+:
The 2013 Pouilly-Fume from Jonathan Pabiot is a terrific example of the vintage, absolutely superb cut and grip for this difficult growing season. The wine is produced from thirty year-old vines (sauvignon blanc), which are hand-harvested and the fruit fermented solely with indigenous yeasts. The bouquet on the 2013 delivers an outstanding aromatic constellation of tangerine, gooseberry, smoke, petrol, fresh-cut grass, lovely soil tones and a top note of white flowers. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and really rock solid at the core, with fine focus and grip and a long, zesty and very serious finish. Excellent juice.
Langlois-Chateau Crémant de Loire Brut NV, Loire, France
Wine Access:
A beautifully complex Crémant, easily confused for a top-shelf Champagne. In the glass, finely delineated beads of the Langlois-Chateau Crémant de Loire Brut NV burst with ripe apple and pithy grapefruit notes. Round and elegant on the palate with lively acidity, complex citrus notes are underscored by roughly 10% of reserve wines blended in from exceptional vintages, which unfolds in creamier layers hinting at baked fruit and notes of brioche. Excellent length and tension on an energetic and crisp mineral finish.
Calera Chardonnay 2017, Central Coast, California, USA
Vinous 90:
The 2016 Chardonnay (Central Coast) is absolutely delicious, not to mention one of the very finest values readers will find in California Chardonnay. Orchard fruit, floral and chamomile notes are beautifully woven together, with gentle tropical inflections that add character throughout. Drink 2018-2022.
Verget Bourgogne Terres de Pierres 2015, Burgundy, France
Vinous 88:
Bright light yellow. Tangy aromas of dried apricot and spicy oak. Broad, tactile flavors of ripe stone fruits complemented by salty minerality and firm acidity. Still a bit tight but has energy.
