Item Description

Perfectly aged and ready to enjoy, this collection includes:

El Angosto 'Angosto' Tinto 2009, Valencia

Wine Advocate 91:

The 2009 Angosto is made up of equal proportions of Malbec, Garnacha Tintorera, Syrah, Graciano, and Cabernet Franc aged for 10 months in 500-liter French oak. It offers up a complex perfume made more so by a hint of balsamic. Racy raspberries enliven the palate with succulent flavor and vibrant acidity.

Cellar Capcanes Mas Donis Barrica 2010, Catalonia

Wine Advocate 92:

Produced from 85% Garnacha (70-year-old vines) and 15% Syrah (30-year-old vines) aged nine months in new and older American and French oak, it is another under-the-radar wine that dramatically over-delivers. A custom cuvee made for Eric Solomon, it exhibits notes of rose petals, raspberry jam, crushed rocks, spring flowers and kirsch. Stunningly rich and medium to full-bodied, with wonderful vibrancy, precision and minerality, this beauty could easily pass for a grand cru Burgundy - it's that complex and interesting.

Finca Villacreces Pruno 2010, Castilla y Leon

Wine Advocate 94:

Wow! From a vineyard adjacent to Spain's greatest as well as most expensive red wine, Vega Sicilia, this 2,500-case cuvee made for Eric Solomon is spectacular. Full-bodied with an opaque purple color in addition to an extraordinary bouquet of charcoal, wood smoke, creme de cassis and blackberries intermixed with hints of acacia flowers and licorice, this stunning, multidimensional 2010 is loaded. Its texture, richness, complexity, purity and length result in a wine that considerably over-delivers. Drink 2012-2022.

Numanthia Termes 2014, Toro

 Wine Spectator 92:

Cocoa and toasty notes frame black cherry and currant flavors in this round red. Wel--integrated tannins and fine acidity give this balance and focus. In the polished, modern style. Drink now through 2028.

Finca Sandoval Manchuela 2007, Castilla La Mancha , Manchuela

Wine Advocate 93, Vinous 92:

(76% syrah, 13% monastrell and 11% bobal) Glass-staining purple. Suave, finely focused aromas of dark berries, Asian spices, anise and smoky minerals, with a sexy mocha undertone. Juicy and nicely balanced, with sweet blackberry and blueberry flavors, gentle spiciness and tangy minerality. The mineral quality helps to extend the sweet, sappy finish. There's an understated, precise quality to this wine that's extremely attractive.

Ordonez Vatan Tinta de Toro 2013, Toro

Wine Advocate 93, Vinous 92:

Made from vines that were reportedly planted in 1910 and 1943; fermented in stainless steel tanks, then moved to new French oak barriques for malo and 22 months of aging.  Dark purple. Fresh black and blue fruits, pipe tobacco and candied violet on the highly perfumed, smoke-accented nose. Fleshy, seamless and broad in the mouth, offering intense blueberry and cherry-vanilla flavors and an exotic touch of Indian spices. The spicy quality carries strongly through the finish, which clings with excellent tenacity and smooth, building tannins. Drink 2019 through 2028.
