Item Description

A SPECIAL GIFT FOR A SPECIAL BOY JUST IN TIME FOR SPRING!

Name:  Archibald     Best Guess for Breed: Hound mix

Best Guess for Age:  A year as of October 2020   SEX:  Male

Approximate Weight: 50 lbs as of 10/20

Archibald is Looking For: The shelter staff describe him as a young, goofy boy who gets along with other dogs. They say he is eager to learn and focused on his person, and just needs direction.

Gets Along With:  Other dogs and cats. We haven't seen Archibald with kids but he can be tested!

Archibald is deaf, which makes communicating with him a little different. Additionally, he seems to have some vision issues. He can see right now, but we don't know what will happen over time. There is a possibility that he may lose some or all of his vision in the future - that is just unknown.

Don't worry -- he's an intelligent boy and none of these unique qualities stop him from having as much fun and exploring everything he can! Whether playing at daycare with new friends, using his nose to sniff every inch on his walks, or playing with this foster, Archibald is a fun and loving pup!

Archibald has no clue he is not exactly like other dogs. He wants his own forever family and home, and just needs the right adopter who is ready to work with his communication needs.

What My Foster Says About Me: Archibald is smart and needs lots of exercise and playtime with dog parks, daycare, and things to keep his mind busy like chewies, puzzle balls, etc. When approaching people and letting them pet him he taps with his nose. He's a big boy and is very strong on his leash but with some training will be great! He's been fine with my cats as well.

Archibald definitely has a good amount of energy and needs plenty of running and mental stimulation but still does great with other dog friends and even ignores another dog in the house when she tries to give him a hard time. Archibald can't wait to find his forever home!

Currently Living at: DC area foster

TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $400, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. You can see our new fee schedule and adoption lprocess link HERE
