Item Description

This set of two wheel-thrown bumblebee beer steins are handmade and hand-decorated by the talented potter, Laura Tietjen. The artist used a bright honeycomb color for these playful beer steins, and on the sides she added busy little bees hard at work. A bold black glaze was added across the top and over the handles. These ceramic beer steins are perfect for sitting back and relaxing with a friend.

Size: Each  stein measure 5 ½ inches tall, 4 ½ inches wide at the base, 3 inches wide at the mouth, and holds just over ½ liter.

The steins are considered a potbelly style, a distinct design that is bulbous at the bottom of the mug and features a narrow opening. Its wider base compels beer lovers to swirl their beverage of choice around while drinking, releasing aromas that improve its scent and taste, making it a good choice when paired with Belgian ales and stouts.

These mugs are lead-free and food safe.

About the Artist: Laura Tietjen crafted in a small pottery studio in Manhattan. Cornerstone Pottery offers classes to children, beginners, and experienced potters. Laura Tietjen has been teaching pottery and facilitating Monday night workshops at the studio for many years and not only enjoys the process of working with clay and watching its transformation, but loves watching her students learn the lessons of control and letting go. Each stage of creating a piece reveals its mysteries; from throwing the piece, to waiting for it to come out of a glaze fire. Nothing is ever predictable.
