Creation Process: Primary 1 students rolled out small clay disks and painted them with colorful glazes of their choosing. They found a beautiful Eucalyptus stick and assembled the wind chime using fishing wire to connect each disks to the stick.
For the group project, we are reminded of the quote, "When you can't change the direction of the wind, adjust your sails." Our kids teach us that there is beauty in every moment, just as chimes do, when the wind blows in a new unpredictable direction. We know the music our Primary 1 chime creates will be a lasting reminder of how our individual families came together and created harmony out of adversity.
Additional details: clay, glaze, eucalyptus stick, fishing wire; 24in x 36in.
Credits and thank yous to Penny Luce, Lisa Palmer, Haley Bryan, Mary Ann Coughlin, Charmaine Ho, Michele McCulloch, and Carolina Maldonado.
