Item Description
Finished piece is 22x26. Generously donated by a KLT member.
Carol Gagnon, of Cape Porpoise, Maine, is an accomplished plein air artist who works mainly in acrylic and watercolor. Carol's fine art paintings capture the beauty of landscapes through expressive color and mood. The sea is her greatest influence in her landscapes and still life paintings.
“I love to paint outdoors and I am always inspired by the light, color, and emotional feelings that plein air painting provides,” says Carol. She has studied with, and has been influenced by, Charles Movalli, Dale Ratcliffe, David Millard and Charles Sovek.
Gagnon is a recently retired Allied ASID interior decorator on Sanibel Island, Florida. She found the interplay of creating interiors versus creating paintings was an important influence of her career. The artist, who has been painting since 1973, has her art displayed in many private collections.
Currently, Carol's fine art can be seen at her home studio in Cape Porpoise from mid-May through mid-October. She also exhibits locally in southern Maine, at exhibitions held by Maine Women in the Arts, the Art Guild of the Kennebunks, at River Tree Arts in Kennebunk Lower Village, and at the annual River Club Casino Show on Ocean Avenue in Kennebunkport.
During the winter months, Carol resides at Lexington Country Club in Fort Myers, Florida, with her husband Jacques. She paints southwest Florida, the Keys and the Caribbean.
