Enjoy a one-week vacation in the spectacular Colorado Rockies in this beautiful vacation home located directly on the trout-filled Lake Fork of the Gunnison River 2 miles south of quaint Lake City Colorado. This warm and inviting home easily sleeps 7. This home has 3 bedrooms. The very large master bedroom features a cathedral ceiling, king-sized bed, private master bathroom with tub and shower, large windows and a dresser. The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed, a full-sized couch, dresser and desk. Adjacent is a full bathroom with a walk-in shower. The loft overlooking the great room provides 3 single beds, a dresser and half bath.
 
The focal point of this family-friendly home is the great room. This magnificent cathedral-ceiling room provides a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains through 2 large picture windows. The dining area seats up to 9 and flows directly into the living room warmed by a floor-to-ceiling, moss-rock, wood-burning fireplace. Entertainment options include high-speed internet, a new flat-screen TV with DirectTV, DVR, DVD player and a small stereo.
 
The fully equipped large kitchen is immediately off the dining area. Features include a microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal and double sink.  Adjacent to the kitchen is a washer and dryer.
 
Enjoy the outdoors on the large, wrap-around sunny deck. Furniture includes 14 chairs, 2 patio tables, numerous side tables and a charcoal grill. Deer can often be seen in the meadow below the deck. A short trail leads to a fire pit in the meadow with ample seats for that evening glass of wine, family cookout or S’mores under the stars.
 
Beautiful Lake San Cristobal, the second largest natural lake in Colorado, is only 2 miles away and provides a variety of options for the outdoor enthusiast.
 
The charming former mining town of Lake City, at an elevation of 8,800 feet, features two streams.  Key attractions include several parks with playgrounds, historical museum and mines, arts center, walking trails, a variety of shops, a nice selection of restaurants, and miniature golf.
 
Lake City is situated in tiny Hinsdale County in the San Juan Mountains, part of the Colorado Rockies. The most popular activities include fishing, hiking, Jeeping, wildflower sighting, boating, biking, and mine touring. The Alpine Loop takes you on a 4-wheel drive adventure over Cinnamon and Engineer Passes while exploring several mining ghost towns.
