About Christina Selby (from her website)
MA- Environment & Community, BS- Ecology, Evolution and Animal Behavior

As an ecologist by degree and naturalist at heart, I have always had a profound interest and love of the natural world and a desire to see humans co-exist in harmony with the other. I believe that art, whether photography, film, writing, or something else, can both share the beauty of the planet and serve as a powerful vehicle to persuade and motivate. My work harnesses storytelling to enchant hearts and inspire action for wild places and wild things.

I am the author of Best Wildflower Hikes of New Mexico (FalconGuides, March 2020), Family Outdoor Adventures New Mexico (UNM Press, August 2021), and producer and co-director of the feature documentary Saving Beauty: Learning to Live with the Rare Ones Among Us. My work has appeared in publications such as: bioGraphic, Scientific American, National Geographic online, New Mexico Magazine, High Country News, Mongabay, among others. My work has benefitted organizations such as The Nature Conservancy New Mexico, New Mexico Wild, and NM State Forestry/Endangered Plants Program. Christina is mother to 7th grader Clayton and Stargazer Oscar.
