Item Description

Mac loves water! Not only can he be found frequently swimming in his pool, but also delights in the monsoons! He'll stand under a torrential downpour excitedly trumpeting and then play in the muddy puddles!

Macadamia was rescued along with Coconut, Peanut, and Walnut from a circus in 2015, where they were subjected to abuse and torture to get them to perform tricks. When he arrived at the Wildlife SOS elephant center, he was aggressive and displayed signs of stereotyping by bobbing his head. Understandably, he was very wary of his new surroundings because the only experience he had with humans involved pain.

These four are affectionately referred to as The Nut Herd, and Mac is the oldest, but still pretty young. He was only 22 years old at the time of his rescue.

Size: Original watercolor in 8 x 10 inch mat.

About the Artist: Belinda Stewart lives in St. Augustine, Florida. She works in all mediums but favors watercolors. She studied in private classes with famed watercolorist Mun Quan and art classes at Jacksonville University. All her watercolors are painted on professional Arches watercolor paper with Windsor Newton paints.

From the Artist: "Wildlife SOS has captured my heart with their ongoing love and care for all the animals retiring at their sanctuaries. From freeing Raju from chains and the legal battles to rescue sweet Mohan, it is an ongoing endeavor to save as many as possible. Since being retired, it has been pure joy seeing a photo posted of an elephant, bear or leopard and setting it aside to become inspiration for my watercolors and acrylics."
