Three bottles of aged port to enjoy with friends after a meal - perhaps by the fireplace?
1) Dow 2007 (375mL)
Very dark opaque purple color, with a typically spicy nose and intense underlying aromas of blackberries and blackcurrants. Enormous opulent palate with a marvellous balance of dense black fruit wrap in a tannic cloak. Dow’s 1997 Vintage Port pairs wonderfully with strong cheeses like creamy Blue Stilton or Aged Cheddar or paired on its own.
2) Taylor 1992 (750mL)
Deep ruby-purple inky colour. Powerful ripe berry fruit aromas. Excellent balance and complexity. Delightful fresh intensity. Big, full bodied, well structured palate. Intense mixture of rich dark fruits, liquorice and spice. Superb depth and richness. Good long finish.
3) Warre 1991 (750mL)
Critically acclaimed vintage port. Raisiny and very sweet, with plum and prune aromas and flavors.
