Item Description
2010 - This wine shows a fine, deep red/black color with harmonious and
lifted aromas. Blueberry notes have evolved to darker blackberry
notes and the aromatics of this wine retain their bright fruit
expression but are reaching the “tipping point” between fruit and the
complex of aromas of aging. The wine’s entry on the palate is rich,
with a distinctive tannin structure and texture reminiscent of dark
chocolate, with flavors of black plums. Danelle Rosati recommends
decanting beforehand. Serve with Brizoles Greek Style Grilled Steak..
2011- Our 2011 has a bright medium red color with complex notes of dried
herbs and classic Cabernet aromatics. The aromas are restrained,
but deep, promising good evolution. The wine’s entry on the palate
is fresh and smooth with bright black and red fruit flavors
through the middle and finish. The wine is structured more by its
acidity than by its tannins, and as a result is bright, refreshing, and
approachable. Lovely served with White Asparagus Spears with
Lobster Champagne-Morel Sauce & Cognac Reduction.
2012 - Easy to enjoy, the 2012 has warm, immediately expressive aromatics of blueberry, black cherry and brown spices; lifted, and pretty. On the palate the wine has a soft, slightly broad entry, medium weight and length, with some chewy tannins that provide the structure to support food choices that cast a wider net of variations than the powerful vintage of 2010. The wine has a fine line down the palate from entry to finish, and on the finish, a good balance of fruit and texture.
2013 - The wine reflects the tiny grapes of the vintage (25% smaller than usual) in its intense flavor and concentrated power. It shows a deep, dark red color that remains vibrant and youthful despite the wine's age. Aromas of dark plums, intense chocolate, and licorice wind tightly together with hints of slate and minerals. The compact aromas and powerful black fruit flavors combine with fine-grained tannins; together, they command attention and give intesity and length on the palate. Enjoynow through 2035.
