Materials: "Hyper Striper" artwork is about 3 ft. wide x 1 ft. tall and made of .5 in. Versatex (PVC). Layered Kantha quilts and acrylic paint.

Description: My Hyper Striper, Jojo the Boho, Bass has lots of personality! He's made from strips and pieces of reclaimed Kantha quilts and acrylic paint. If you look closely between his stripes you will see ocean waves, seaweed and fish hooks. The colors of black, turquoise, dusty red and cream are repeated in the patterned fabrics and give him a boho as well as coastal vibe. My husband and son are avid fishermen, so Jojo, the Boho Bass is a tribute to the hours that they spend on the water which allow me hours of solitude in my workshop creating art from reclaimed materials.

About the Artist: I am a mixed media artist and owner of an online business, ForagedDecor. Over the past 7 years, I have designed and created unique decor and gifts from reclaimed materials, many from the beach and coast. In normal times, I sell my products at New England art and craft fairs, including SoWa in Boston, Crafts in the Park, Andover, The Vintage Bazaar as well as in my online Etsy shop. I sorely miss the in person events and I have used my extra time to explore different art mediums. Several of my newest products are made using Kantha quilts and I admire the worn, soft, colorful saris used in these gorgeous blankets. It was lots of fun to use these beautiful fabrics in my Hyper Striper. Creating community art has always been on my bucket list and I appreciate this opportunity to support and be included in Arts in the Park 2021.
