Item Description

Artwork Title: Sunflowers
Artist: Emma Hoey - Emerging Artist

All information was provided by the artist in their own words.

Materials: "Hyper Striper" artwork is about 3 ft. wide x 1 ft. tall and made of .5 in. Versatex (PVC). Layered acrylic paint.

Description: My Hyper Striper, titled Sunflowers, is a layered acrylic painting in impressionist style with a loose sunset background. The sunflower fields of Massachusetts have been a staple part of my summers growing up in the Northshore. I wanted to capture the essence and beauty of my favorite flowers and paint something as vibrant as they are.

About the Artist: Emma Hoey is an emerging artist from the Greater Boston Area. She specializes in painting and printmaking at Brandeis University as a Post Baccalaureate student. Emma has supplemented her art studies at The University of Vermont, MassArt, and Merrimack College since 2014. Her practice is based mostly on figurative female work, but also includes abstracted prints and still life works.
