Item Description

Artwork Title: Achilles' Fin
Artist: Karin Stolle

All information was provided by the artist in their own words.

Materials: "Hyper Striper" artwork is about 3 ft. wide x 1 ft. tall and made of .5 in. Versatex (PVC). Acrylic paint, silicone caulk, beads, chains, stone, nails, shells, polyurethane and marine yacht varnish.

Description: Achilles' Fin is a mixed media work using nails and beads, stones and seashells. As it is to be a piece to place in the garden, I wanted some textures to compete with the glory that is the garden. I thought of the nails as armored protection and that place by the tail a weakness that is missing the armor, hence the name Achilles' Fin.

About the Artist: Mixed Media is my passion and I have taken many Mixed Media courses at Montserrat. I have participated in art shows and have sold some of my work. Being new to Beverly and having a garden for the first time in over 15 years I am thrilled to have room for Eco Printing. I am in the starting phase of my garden inspired art business Stolle'npieces. I look forward to continuing to explore the great big world of Mixed Media and to support my new city of Beverly.
