Item Description

Artwork Title: Spring Striper
Artist: Kris Swords

All information was provided by the artist in their own words.

Materials: "Hyper Striper" artwork is about 3 ft. wide x 1 ft. tall and made of .5 in. Versatex (PVC). Acrylic paint.

Description: Spring Striper is inspired by the change of season. Tulips are a favorite of mine as well as many people, they are harbingers of spring. I use acrylic paint to try to capture standing and looking down at a bed of tulips, all sizes and stages of development. The Stripers in the ocean are also returning in the spring to our local waters. Spring has a special meaning this year as we emerge from the harsh pandemic.

About the Artist: I live in Beverly now and love it! I have always been influenced by my mothers Art Career and passion for the visual arts. I have worked professionally in the design field for 35 years. I have a BFA in Design from Kansas University. I continued painting classes at The Kansas City Art Institute while working and living in Kansas City.
