Item Description

Artwork Title: Moving Between Worlds
Artist: Sara Roizen

All information was provided by the artist in their own words.

Materials: "Hyper Striper" artwork is about 3 ft. wide x 1 ft. tall and made of .5 in. Versatex (PVC). Layered acrylic paints and acrylic paint markers.

Description: My Hyper Striper, Moving Between Worlds, is inspired by the physical and symbolic fluidity of water and the ebb and flow of our inner lives. I allude to the movement between worlds with the creation of three world-like mandalas on each side of my Striper. I explored the visual contrast between the segmented colorful sections by subtly blurring the boundaries with long sweeping brush strokes before the paint had completely dried. I am drawn to the synergy between movement and stillness that the underwater world seems to embody. Like water, we can be gentle and fluid, yet strong enough to continuously reshape our life and the lives around us as we move through the world.
