Item Description

Artwork Title: Zentangled
Artist: Virginia Betts - Emerging Artist

All information was provided by the artist in their own words.

Materials: "Hyper Striper" artwork is about 3 ft. wide x 1 ft. tall and made of .5 in. Versatex (PVC). Acrylic paints, sharpie.

Description: My Hyper Striper, entitled Zentangled, is inspired by some drawings that I made during quarantine. I really like to draw geometric designs and I feel that they are soothing to look at. I decided to do a zentangle striper because each pattern is designated to a specific area of the fish, signifying my organizational/planning skills and creative thinking which have been developed further throughout covid times.

About the Artist: My name is Virginia Betts, I am currently a senior at Beverly High School and will be attending UMass Amherst in the fall. I have always enjoyed art and am the president of the Beverly chapter of the National Art Honor Society. I love to be creative and will continue to use my skills in college. I am also a gymnast of the North Shore Wildcats at the YMCA and the Beverly Panthers team.
