Item Description
A collection of poems by the Marin Horizon School Class of 2021.
This year, students learned the "See, Think, Wonder" thinking routine, a pedagogy championed by Project Zero at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. The technique asks students to slow down their observation in order to recognize the elements that go into understanding and analysis of a text or work of art. They discover that even a complex poem, novel, photograph, or painting can be understood first as a collection of words, images, or colors.
The cover art is a collage by Eloise Kraynak. It was created during our study of Fahrenheit 451 in response to a prompt that asked students to depict something that makes them feel connected or reminds them their life has purpose. Ian Mooney and Lauren Somerville's illustrations and Xanthe Patton's photos were created in response to the same assignment.
This is just a start and we invite you to explore and enjoy your very own copy of "See, Think, Wonder" in its entirety!
Credits and thank yous to the Class of 2021, Jesse Pearson, Lisa Townsend, Charmaine Ho, and The Copy Shop and Printing Co.
