Item Description
Toned gelatin silver print
by Arnold Tunstall
Recently, I’ve been exploring the glut of imagery that we encounter daily, and how we process and order this visual language. I continue to be fascinated by black & white film and the resulting surreal or theatrical quality that is often heightened when we see the world in monochrome. In this particular image, taken from the Highline in New York, I love the layers of an old photo, turned into a giant mural, and then photographed by me – scale and time are confused. I am endlessly fascinated by the camera’s ability to aid in that deception.
