Item Description

This original signed cartoon "Student-Teacher Conference" appeared in the May 10, 2021 issue of the New Yorker. It was drawn by acclaimed, award-winning artist Pat Achilles, who has had a half-dozen cartoons published in the iconic magazine. The original prisma-pencil and ink wash drawing is framed and on the back of the frame the printed page of the cartoon from the New Yorker is taped in a plastic sleeve. The topic of the gag cartoon would give a laugh to any teacher, principal or school staff member who receives it as a gift.

Pat Achilles is an award-winning illustrator with over 20 years of experience in corporate, advertising, book and editorial illustration. Her styles range from highly realistic to humorous cartoons to children’s literature. She is a magna cum laude graduate of Moore College of Art in Philadelphia. Pat is a co-founder of the Bucks County Illustrators Society and gives presentations on ‘What Authors Should Know about Book Illustration,’ geared especially for children’s book writers, and ‘Marketing for Illustrators.’ She is an adjunct professor in the illustration department at Moore.
