Craig Anthony Miller (CAM) was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He received his BFA in graphic design from Saint Johns University in Queens, New York. His professional graphic art practice gave way to his natural transition into painting. The opportunity to share his creative process at a live painting event on the Lower East Side in 1996 was the first in a series of events that would lead him to shift his focus primarily to this new medium.
Working in primarily acrylic and aerosol paints, both on studio and public surfaces, CAM has created a series of paintings and murals throughout Brooklyn that combine the style of stained glass and the energy of the urban landscape with symbols of freedom, strength, and wellness.
CAM's earlier works focused on the "Warrior Within", posing a reminder to viewers to persevere through their personal battles in search of excellence. He has gone on to produce work featuring the Hindu Deity, Lord Ganesh as well as birds, a popular symbol for freedom of flight. He most recently debuted "Rituals of the Urban Yogi", a series of paintings that illustrate the tenets previously seen in CAM's work, combined in the context of the yoga culture, well-known for its alignment with holistic wellness.
CAM's work has been shown in group and solo exhibitions internationally and has been featured in prominent corporate collaborations.
