The best time to tour is during Hop harvest which begins (depending on weather) sometime in August or early September. Schedule your tour during the harvest and beer-making. The cell number and email for a reservation is provided with the tickets.
History: In 1865 Frank Ruhstaller arrives in Sacramento, California from Einsiedeln, Switzerland. He quickly rose to the foreman of the City Brewery. In 1881 he purchases the City Brewery and begins brewing Ruhstaller’s Gilt Edge Lager- a steam beer. 1890’s the Sacramento area was the largest hop-growing area in the world. And the beer story continues… The Farm is located at 6686 Sievers Road, Dixon, CA.
