"I named this heart 'Bohemia'. It's a direct reference to the early Carmel residents, the artists, the poets, writers, actors impresarios, Bohemians one and all, who made this little corner of paradise so uniquely artsy and eccentric. Hail to the founders! May we never lose our originality and creative spirit."

SIMON BULL is a British born artist living in Carmel. He paints from a deep understanding of the flows and rhythms of the natural world. The landscape, flora, and fauna of the Central Coat provide limitless inspiration. Bull's MEUSE Gallery in Carmel delights visitors with his bold, colorful paintings with their playful twists and quirks. Bull's recognitions include being selected as the official artist for the 2019 National Cherry Blossom Festival and for the 2002 Winter Olympics. He has won art industry awards on both sides of the Atlantic. A cancer survivor, Bull is grateful to God for every day.

Shipment of hearts: Leadership Carmel is willing to facilitate shipping of Heart, with the winning bidder assuming all responsibility and all costs for packing and shipping, being paid in advance. Agreement must be made with Leadership Carmel to handle shipping arrangements in advance of the 8/30/21 deadline for pick up. The heart with no base weighs 40 lbs., 10" thick (at widest point of heart) x 52"wide (at widest portion of heart) x 60" tall (Base to top of heart).

Base info: Each heart is built on an integral tube steel stand (2"dia x visible 6") and plate (1/4" thick x 12"x12"). For the art display in Carmel, the heart on stand is sitting inside of and anchored to a steel box (24"x24") with 8-Travertine bricks (6"x12"x2") covering the base plate. The steel box and travertine bricks are not included in the auction price. The steel base box, anchoring hardware and Travertine bricks may be purchased separately by arrangement with Leadership Carmel and would increase shipping weight by 165lbs. Please let leadership know if you wish to purchase base prior to picking up heart.
