 "My heart represents what we absorb and reflect as a community: light, darkness, and the palette of our physical environment. The notion of community is a recurrent theme in my work, as I evoke the energy that connects us, and the spiritual connection to the soul of our bohemian roots."

 

ASHLEY BENNETT-STODDARD began creating art in her teens, as apprentice to her father, Bob Bennett, learning to make bronze sculptures. Bennett-Stoddard's distinctive style of painting reflects her love of color, shape, and texture, as well as her inherited feel for line and design. She has designed fundraising pendants for 38 nonprofits, and her paintings have been shown in galleries across the country. Bennett-Stoddard's constant inluences - God, nature, community, and philanthropy -underlie her design work and her fine art. The current board chair for the Carmel Chamber of Commerce, she is also active in the Carmel Sunset Rotary, advancing their mission of empowering youth through the arts.

Winning Bid pick up info: All pick up, delivery and shipping costs to final destination are the responsibility of the winning bidder and are not included in the auction price. Shipment of hearts: Leadership Carmel is willing to facilitate shipping of Heart, with the winning bidder assuming all responsibility and all costs for packing and shipping, being paid in advance. Agreement must be made with Leadership Carmel to handle shipping arrangements in advance of the 8/3021 deadline for pick up. The heart with no base weighs 40 lbs., 10" thick (at widest point of heart) x 52"wide (at widest portion of heart) x 60" tall (Base to top of heart).

Base info: Each heart is built on a integral tube steel stand (2"dia x visible 6") and plate (1/4" thick x 12"x12"). For the art display in Carmel, the heart on stand is sitting inside of and anchored to a steel box (24"x24") with 8-Travertine pavers (6"x12"x2") covering the base plate. The base designed for the outdoor art exhibit, a steel box and travertine bricks are not included in the auction price. The 24" steel box, anchoring hardware and Travertine bricks may be purchased separately by arrangement with Leadership Carmel and would increase shipping weight by 165lbs. Please let leadership know if you wish to purchase base prior to picking up heart.
