"My heart's "beachy' side has waves of sandy, summery, ocean colors. On the other side, the colors have ascended into a more abstract spacious environment. As the lines and textures collide and co-mingle in harmony, this juxtaposing of elements is evocative of my studio work."

ANN ELLIOTT ARTZ has been drawn to the visual arts since childhood. She grew up in Sacramento spending summers in Carmel. After earning her BA in studio art at Oberlin College, she moved to New York City. Artz expanded her artistic interests through continued study in graphic design, leading to a long career as a designer. She settled in Carmel in 2012, and a few years later returned her focus to fine art, reigniting the creative drive of her twenties. Her recent work has been accepted into juried national and international group shows. Artz is an Artist Member of the Carmel Art Association.

Winning Bid pick up info: All pick up, delivery and shipping costs to final destination are the responsibility of the winning bidder and are not included in the auction price. Shipment of hearts: Leadership Carmel is willing to facilitate shipping of Heart, with the winning bidder assuming all responsibility and all costs for packing and shipping, being paid in advance. Agreement must be made with Leadership Carmel to handle shipping arrangements in advance of the 8/30/21 deadline for pick up. The heart with no base weighs 40 lbs., is 10" thick (at widest point of heart) x 52"wide (at widest portion of heart) x 60" tall (Base to top of heart).

Base info: Each heart is built on an integral tube steel stand (2"dia x visible 6") and plate (1/4" thick x 12"x12"). For the art display in Carmel, the heart on stand is sitting inside of and anchored to a steel box (24"x24") with 8-Travertine bricks (6"x12"x2") covering the base plate. The steel box and travertine bricks are not included in the auction price.The steel base box, anchoring hardware and Travertine bricks may be purchased separately by arrangement with Leadership Carmel and would increase shipping weight by 165lbs. Please let leadership know if you wish to purchase base prior to picking up heart.
