Item Description

This 2-night getaway package for four people in a private cabin at the Appalachian Mountain Club’s Medawisla and/or Gorman Chairback Cabins is located in the beautiful North Maine Woods. The area, recently designated as New England’s first “dark sky park”, is known for hiking and paddling in the summer and fall months as well as fly fishing in the Spring and Fall. Or, enjoy a self-guided Lodge to Lodge ski adventure in the winter. All meals, use of canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, and gear transport (winter) included.

Each cabin has two bedrooms, a private bath and a living room with a wood stove (ie heat!). They are adjacent to the main lodge where seated family-style meals are provided for dinner (beer and wine available but not included), breakfast and bag lunches provided for eating on the trail. Both lodges are on lakes and have kayaks, canoes, paddle boards etc provided. In the winter there are ski/snowshoe trails and as well as saunas in the main lodge. The lodges are located in the 100-mile wilderness between Greenville and Millinocket. They are both accessible by car
in the summer. In the winter Medawisla has a plowed road that goes right up to the lodge, Gorman-Chairback is only accessible by a 7 mile ski.
