Item Description
Delightfully colorful “Summer Money” mixed media on paper by Deborah Forman. 9” x 12”. Framed and matted to 11” x 14”.
Brewster artist Deborah Forman works in mixed media and digital art. She had a one-person show at the Cape Cod Museum of Art in 2013 and her art is in the collection of that museum as well as in numerous private collections. She has exhibited her work in Philadelphia, New York, New Jersey, and Cape Cod. She was part of a group exhibit in Osaka, Japan and was represented by Galerie Nouchine in Beaulieu-Sur-Mer, France. She studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and the Philadelphia Museum School of Art, and has a degree in journalism from Temple University.
Deborah is the author of five books published by Schiffer Publishing: Perspectives on the Provincetown Art Colony (2011); Contemporary Cape Cod Artists: Images of Land and Sea (2013); Contemporary Cape Cod Artists: People & Places (2014); Contemporary Cape Cod Artists, On Abstraction (2015). Her most recent book, Art From the Cape: Selections from the Cape Cod Museum of Art (2016), was co-written with the former museum director, Edith Tonelli. She has also curated several exhibitions at the Museum.
Deborah wrote the script, conducted the interviews, and worked on the filming for Art In Its Soul, an award-winning documentary on the history of the Provincetown Art Colony, which aired on public television stations nationwide. As a journalist, Deborah has had many years of experience covering the visual art and live theater scenes on Cape Cod and her articles have appeared in many art-related publications.
She is currently represented by Miller White Fine Arts Gallery in South Dennis.
