Carolyn Niethammer writes about the plants, food, mountains, canyons, streams, and the people of the Southwest. She has written several regional cookbooks such as The Prickly Pear Cookbook, Cooking the Wild Southwest: Delicious Recipes for Desert Plants, and American Indian Cooking: Recipes from the Southwest.
