Item Description
This collage, "Remember: The Four Divine Abodes"," is one of two donated by artist Carl Lennartson. It is meant to remind the viewer on a daily basis of a particular Buddhist principle and philosophy.
Says Lennartson, "The Divine Abodes, written in the lower right corner of the piece, are legible, though somewhat obscured by several layers of paint. Also, the Divine Abodes hover lowly in an empty field of grey as if to whisper to the viewer, 'Read down here. Remember this wisdom.'"
Lennartson suggests that the winning bidder place the piece in their meditation space, or perhaps next to a door through which he or she passes on a regular basis.
It may be hung on a wall, preferably at eye level, or, since the frame is substantial, placed free-standing on an altar. Furthermore, the collage provides the eye and mind with a degree of tranquility and emptiness. This piece will come with a hook for hanging and directions for proper care.
