Virtual Workshop - Friday October 1 and Saturday October 2, 2021

Any change can be difficult, at times disruptive, and change can present opportunities for personal growth. When we connect to our needs both in mind and body we are better prepared to manage anticipation around what is to come. This workshop is focused on being more empowered, confident and resilient in the face of change.

Workshop Details:

Friday October 1, 2021 - 4:30pm pacific/7:30pm eastern - one hour

Friday evening will offer an opening circle and gentle somatic / yoga practice with guided meditation. In addition to introducing the schedule for Saturday, everyone will be invited to share their intentions and goals for the workshop. In advance of the workshop, participants will be provided with a change story outline and will be encouraged to reflect on and write a change story. There will be an opportunity to share insights and expectations with the group (or not).

Saturday October 2, 2021 - 10am pacific/1pm eastern - three hours

Saturday’s workshop will start with a short opening practice including gentle somatic movement. Participants will engage in interactive exercises with a partner or in small groups. There will be time for reflection sharing.

Workshop Outcomes: During this workshop, participants will:
- Explore and learn ways to manage change: emotionally, physically, other
- Enhance their self-awareness of what is needed to process and skillfully respond to change - Acquire tools and resources to process change
- Learn how to connect more deeply to personal needs

This workshop is ideal for those who:
- Are going through change and are ready to work through it
- Want to better understand habitual reactions to change
- Ready to self-manage in a different way
- Looking for a supportive space to explore alternative approaches to change

Teaching Team:

Michelle Precourt of Mindful HR Services, is an HR Consultant and Workplace Mindfulness Facilitator based in Squamish, BC. In her private practice, Michelle offers mindfulness techniques driving employee engagement, productivity and workplace success. In addition to completing her 200 hour Hatha yoga teacher training and studying various yoga and meditation teachings, Michelle’s educational highlights include: University of Manitoba, Certificate in Human Resource Management, Royal Roads University, Neuroscience in Leadership and Career Professionals of Canada, Certified Work-Life Strategist.

Monique Newton is an E-200 RYT and YACEP Registered Teacher with Yoga Alliance based in Ottawa, ON. She is currently concentrating on her 800-hour Yoga Therapy IAYT-certification with the School of Embodied Yoga Therapy. Her teaching is focused on trauma-informed and somatic experiencing approaches. Monique is also trained in Third-Party Neutral (TPN) Mediation and Facilitation, Community Mediation, and in Conflict Coaching (John Curtis). She has a BA in Cultural Anthropology and African Studies (University of Toronto) and an MA in Policy Studies and Public Administration (Queen’s University).
