Trapp Family Lodge is a unique mountain resort featuring Austrian-inspired architecture and cozy European-style accommodations, stunning mountain views, old-world comforts, and impeccable service, along with fun-filled adventures and activities for every season. Overlooking the classic New England village of Stowe, Vermont, this resort is a 2,500-acre mecca for outdoor and nature enthusiasts, as well as the original home of the von Trapp family. With Stowe village and the state's highest mountain only minutes away, the best of Vermont's winter, spring, summer, and fall outdoor activities are all at your doorstep.

In the early 1940s, the von Trapp family toured the United States as the Trapp Family Singers before eventually settling in Stowe, Vermont on an enchanted farm with sweeping mountain vistas reminiscent of their beloved Austria. In the summer of 1950, they began welcoming guests to a rustic, 27-room family home/lodge. After a devastating fire in 1980, the original structure was replaced by the new Trapp Family Lodge, a striking, 96-room alpine lodge situated on 2,500 acres offering magnificent indoor and outdoor resort amenities. The entire property is owned and operated by the von Trapp family, which you can learn more about by taking a tour during your stay. Settle into one of the delightfully rustic rooms with European furnishings and mountain views. Indulge in the charm of an alpine lodge, the conveniences of a modern resort, and the warmth of a family-run property. Whether you seek solitude or spirited activities, the Trapp Family Lodge is the choice for an unforgettable vacation any time of year!

Do everything or nothing at all – it's up to you! The question isn't what to do, but rather, where to start? From sunrise to sunset in every season, there is an invigorating adventure or relaxing activity waiting for you at the Trapp Family Lodge. In warmer months, you can walk or hike to enjoy the solitude of the trails that wind their way through the meadows and woodlands, explore mountain bike trails, and play on a 9-hole disc golf course. On this vast property, you'll also find four red clay tennis courts, three swimming pools (one indoors), a great croquet pitch, and a Fitness Center offering state-of-the-art exercise equipment, yoga classes, massage therapy, a rock-climbing wall, and a sauna, not to mention daily activities such as baking, painting, and music classes! You could also opt for a magical horse-drawn carriage ride, the perfect way to experience the natural beauty of Trapp Family Lodge and its extraordinary mountaintop setting. Or dash through the snow with a pass for skiing and enjoy access to more than 60 miles of trails with terrain suitable for every level of Nordic/backcountry skier or snowshoer. Trapp Family Lodge is home to the first US cross-country ski center, and with a great trail system that is always being expanded and improved upon, you'll find it's also one of the best! But cross-country skiing isn't the only winter activity you can enjoy here - backcountry skiing and snowshoeing are also popular activities at this resort. You'll find miles and miles of groomed and backcountry trails, plus ample terrain where you can snowshoe on your own or with a scheduled group tour.

The Trapp Family Lodge is more than just a hotel; it's a family home with years and years of history in its walls. Explore the property, learn about the family's extensive history, and go behind the scenes of day-to-day operations on one of many tours! As Maria von Trapp once said, "Our life is like a beautiful story that happens to be true." The von Trapp family's journey is a remarkable story, which you can learn about on a history tour. Sweeten things up on a Maple Sugaring Tour in the sugarhouse, as you relive the centuries-old tradition of making pure Vermont maple syrup. Take a walking tour of the colorful gardens, to which Maria von Trapp loved to tend, or visit Johannes von Trapp's dream come true of the property's own Austrian-style brewery for a flight of the crisp, clean lager.

Nestled in the mountains, Trapp Family Lodge offers an abundance of charm and whimsy in its Austrian-style alpine lodge. Just a short drive to downtown Stowe, the resort is close to a variety of local attractions such as Green Mountain Coffee Visitor's Center and the Ben & Jerry's Factory. Stowe is a lovely 200-year-old destination with a quaint downtown area full of shops and restaurants that offer views of the surrounding mountains. Visitors can enjoy outdoor recreation year-round, as well as cultural activities and attractions, family fun, and exciting events.

Your getaway for two includes:
