Item Description
For over 370 years and with 13-family generations, the Hugel family has unrivaled experience and knowledge of Alsace vineyards and winemaking. The company was founded in Riquewihr in 1639 by Hans Ulrich Hugel, a Swiss national, who left his home country during the Thirty Years' War. It has remained in the hands of the Hugel family since then. As a logotype, they use a family crest which was carved in 1672, to decorate the doorway of a house built in Riquewihr by one of Hans Ulrich's sons.
Hugel 2015 Gentil White
Gentil has become a joyous, convivial wine whose arrival the Hugel family always awaits with impatience in the spring following each vintage. Gentil shows pure, fresh aromas, very fruit-driven and floral, as well as expressive and flattering. On the palate, this dry wine has a lively, youthful fresh character that is refreshing, with a pleasant, scented finish. Gentil is a perfect wine to sip with friends or to enjoy with simple everyday meals. Gentil is best enjoyed chilled with saltwater and freshwater fish, shellfish, starters and hors d'oeuvres.
Hugel 2018 Classic Riesling
The Famille Hugel signature wine. This dry Riesling stands out for its finesse and frankness and is the ideal partner to fish and seafood thanks to its wonderful balance and elegance. It is Hugel's most demanding variety as it is also the latest ripening. Dry and elegant, it expresses itself best on their steepest slopes with the most complex minerality.
