Item Description
A 3-night stay at the Sackett and Van Dam Guest House at Little 9 Farm 1706. Just named one of "The 10 Best Remote AirBnBs for an Escape From Reality" according to the author of 'Leave the World Behind' Rumaan Alam. Settled in the 120 acres of "Little 9 Farm 1706" in Northern Dutchess County, the Sackett and Van Dam Guest House is a 2-bedroom, 1-bath converted Red Brick Barn with beamed ceilings, overlooking the farm fields, a private lake and a salt water pool. The house is equipped with a split zone AC, high speed Wi-Fi, Cable TV, wireless printer, music speakers and a gas-ignited fireplace for fall and winter evenings.
Activities on the farm include fishing in the lake, hiking and biking trails in the forest and the open meadows, interacting with the farm animals, playing on the kids swing set or simply relaxing by the pool or around the firepit. As fall descends on the Northeast, the property has ample forestry to watch the leaves change. Snow shoeing and sledding in the winter, hiking in the spring and swimming in the summer make it a four seasons escape. One can also expect farm fresh eggs most mornings (dependent on our hens mood, of course).
For more information and tours, see www.little9farm.com. 10 minutes to Red Hook Village, Tivoli and Germantown. 15 minutes to Rhinebeck, the Rhinecliff Amtrak Train Station, Bard College, Mead Orchard Farm and the Omega Institute. 30 minutes to Catamount Ski Resort and Art OMI. Minutes from the Taconic State Parkway, making an easy commute to New York City in 1h45 minutes.
