Item Description

This wool Rogaland bunad with embroidery and a damask skirt was purchased by the donor's mother as a kit during a trip to Norway. The donor writes, "She spent countless hours embroidering the dress, shawl, cap, and purse. It was worn a handful of times for the church's annual lutefisk supper. Although my brother and I truly appreciate the sentimentality, we feel the bunad should be sold to someone who will wear it." Size is medium to large. Bust measures 38" but can be adjusted due to the silver chain that pulls the front together. Waist measures 35" but is adjustable with velcro. Length from shoulder seam to waist seam is 17.5". Length of skirt is 38.5". Length from nape of neck to the bottom hem is 55". Apron is 36.5"L. The apron is attached with hooks and eyes, as well as snaps. Two velvet belts are secured with velcro. ALL SILVER IS INCLUDED. Large solje pin: 2.75"Diam. Small solje pin: 1.25"L, .625"W. Cape clasp: 8.5"L. Earrings (screw-on): .5"Diam. Cufflinks: .5"Diam. Bodice chain: 43.5"L. Bag measures 11.5"L, 7.5"W. Hat and shawl included. Note that there is not a blouse as part of this bunad. The one in the pictures in not included. Donated by Ruth Ulvilden-Klaas.
