Item Description

These are serious serving tongs from Kenya!  Solid, with thick handles and large bowls.

  • Dimensions in inches:: Approx. 12 (L), bowls 3.5(w).
  • Beautifully grained olive wood
  • attractive black and white handles made of polished animal horn/bone. 
  • CARE: Hand wash, dry immediately. Rub with a little olive oil to keep the richness of the grain.

STORY:

These tongs are named for a carpenter, George, who, along with his wife, has taken in orphaned children to love and raise as his own. He is an unusual man in his culture - if his wife cannot attend a bi-weekly empowerment meeting for women, he goes in her stead and reports back to her! 

Proceeds from this item benefits Village of Love.
