Item Description
Author of Taming Untamable Beings, Jim Lowrey, offers this year's bidders a copy of his newly released novel, Instant Karma.
Says the description: After thousands of years of religious persecutions and wars, the Realignment was the climax of the battle between the Three Lords of Materialism and the Trinity or Trikaya. The Trinity holds that God is one God, but has three aspects, sometimes called the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The three are distinct, yet are one substance, essence, or nature. The Trikaya, the three bodies or modes of being of the Buddha, are similar—the unmanifested dharmakaya, the sambhogakaya body of essence or enjoyment, and the nirmanakaya Buddha in an earthly form. However, the survivors of Realignment were soon at odds again, with each of the political or religious or business groups claiming to be the chosen ones, or the meek who should inherit the earth.
Jim Lowrey is an "old dog", who, with the rest of his Pygmy hippie family went to Trungpa Rinpoche's first public talk in Colorado in 1970 and connected with him immediately. As part of the early baby boom generation, Jim is emblematic of the sixties generation of war protesters, college dropouts, and hippies, who matured as the American born-again organic, locally grown, free-run middle class.
