Mousumi is passionate about everything she pursues in life, which is why Sikara is so special to her. Her passion for traveling internationally rose out of her deep desire to better understand our world: to understand the history of countries, to hear the stories of the local people and of course to experience their culture.
In addition to her entrepreneurial and private sector interests, Mousumi also has an interest in government and nonprofits. Her experiences in public service range from serving as a Congressional Page when she was a teenager to serving in the National Economic Council at the White House for Dr. Laura D’Tyson and President Clinton while in college.
She is also dedicated to the mission of empowering others through entrepreneurship and leadership as she speaks at conferences and seminars at institutions such as the University of Texas, Wharton School of Business, Harvard Business School, Art Institute of San Francisco and through community partners such as the Young Women’s Alliance and Girl Scouts. Mousumi and Sikara have been featured on Fox and NBC News, in Oprah Magazine, Austin Monthly, Austin Statesman, Boston Magazine, San Francisco 7X7 and many other publications. Mousumi has been involved with EO (Entrepreneur Organization Accelerator) and continues to mentor new start-ups. In 2014, Mousumi was awarded “Austin 40 Under 40” for Business & Entrepreneurship and in 2019, nominated a finalist “Maker” by Austin Women Magazine.
