Item Description
Here is a unique item that you will not be able to acquire anywhere except at the Boxborough Church Silent Auction.
This is a Candle Mat handcrafted by Anne that shows the 3 most historic buildings in our town: the UCC Church, the Town Hall, and Schoolhouse #2. Pieces of wool fabric, in colors matching the actual buildings, were embroidered together with cotton thread to create the buildings on the Candle Mat.
In between the historic buildings on the Candle Mat are the words "Boxborough" and "Massachusetts" and the date the town was incorporated - February 25, 1783. Buzzing above the embroidered text are -- what else -- bees for Boxborough!
You use a Candle Mat as a place to display a special candle. This Candle Mat comes with a New England tradition -- a Yankee candle with a scent called "New England Maple."
This is a one-time opportunity to get this special memento of the Town of Boxborough and its history.
