Item Description
SPRING-TIME GARDEN DREAMING - Sorbetto is a large rectangular wrap/shawl/scarf (60" by 21") hand-knit on needles by a friend of CfR, a one-of-a kind original design using traditional scallop-shell lace stitching. Fashioned in airy, soft boucle-style medium weight wool yarn (DK), it drapes fluidly and provides warmth without being overwhelmingly hot or bulky/heavy.
Its festive, mood-lifting colors follow a gradient from lemon yellow through peach shades to light raspberry, perfect for brightening up winter and transitioning into spring. Included with the package is a notebook, mug and tin of organic chai tea, perfect for a morning of garden planning.
About the knitter: Susan Swetnam has been knitting, designing and selling patterns, and teaching knitting for many years. After retiring as a university English professor, she divides her time between writing, providing massages to hospice patients/cancer survivors/others, and broadening her knitting repertoire. The latter has taken her to intensive classes in the Faroe and Shetland Islands; she's looking forward to a design workshop in Italy next summer. Her creations have won numerous awards in competitions, including multiple best-of-best sweepstakes state fair prizes.
