Item Description
Offered here is a box of 4 cards by local artist and NBS alum parent Wendy Leeds. They are 4x6" and are of her "Tree Series" using mixed media- watercolor, acrylic, colored pencil. They are blank inside w/ envelope.
Of her art, Wendy says:
Everywhere you go, there is art. Inspiration comes from working hard and playing hard in the Green Mountains of Vermont, the deserts of Arizona, and the foothills of Colorado. I prefer acrylics, water colors, ink, and mixed media.
Why cards? It’s the art and love of note-writing. It’s the charm and aesthetic of hand-written ink on paper. The quiet thrill of pulling that envelope out of the mailbox and the way it slows everything down as you stand there with your letter while the rest of the world swirls around you.
A hand-made card is a short-lived thing, perhaps, as these days it’s likely to end up in the woodstove or recycling bin. But there is also a chance it could survive long enough to become a found treasure by some as yet unborn relative.
This is why we write letters. This is why I make cards.
